I don't know if it is widely known but there have been some battery
issues with the Zoom H1 by all accounts. I've had to send mine back due
to problems with the capacitors which cause pulsing on recordings and
make the battery go flat even when not in use.Hope useful

The manual of my recorder actually mentions that batteries would be drained if
left in the recorder, the cause of this is the date time stamping function
which I never use anyway so how to solve the problem? Well my way around it is
to use rechargeable batteries and I use those which hold their
Hello everyone:
I am looking for a basic recording software package with editing functions
to record information in mono. These would be MP3 files that will be sent to
a server. I am not looking for a program with a lot of features. Just a

For those using Total Recorder, I'm not sure how many of you are aware that
Total Recorder allows the user to assign a preferred keyboard command to
virtually every function in Total Recorder. For instance, I have stop set to
F5, Play to F6, Record to F7 and so forth.
To assign keyboard commands:
There are a number of basic audio editing software out there:
Goldwav is quiet popular and is reasonably priced and screen reader
friendly. Window Eyes and JAWS have script for making the program more
functional.
Total Recorder is another. It is somewhat screen reader accessible and

Hi.
I use Total Recorder Professional from www.totalrecorder.com. This is
for recording and basic editing. For more advanced functions I use
GoldWave from www.goldwave.com. Both packages are screen reader friendly
and well worth the price. They both offer a fair use trial which does
not expire
Thanks to all who have pointed me in the right direction! I will have to do
some exploring in this regard!

Greetings,
Thanks for the tip.
Is there any way of saving a keyboard as with goldWave? I'll have a look

I only had the printed manual and perhaps manual isn't the best way to describe

The Zoom H1 recorder is probably the easiest recorder for anyone to use which
has ever been invented, its only some poor unfortunates who make it hard or
impossible by making mountains out of mole hills, I've received a lot of

Dane I have a set of these hybrid batteries which are a combination nickel
metal hydride and
alkaline battery, so that they are rechargeable while not losing power when not
in use. On Wed, 17 Nov

The Zoom H1 is absolutely perfect for this, only thing you may wish to do is to
turn the input gain down a little bit from its default of 50, 30 may be a good
level.

Could you be more specific on these? I mean - correct me if I'm wrong - but are
you saying that each battery contains both a rechargible and an alkaline
battery so that the alkaline keeps the other charged? I can understand the
theory of that.
The batteries I have are made by Sanyo and they are
