Kathy This may seen too obvious to ask, but did you move some of the files back to the main hd and see how they play now. If they still stutter, then the problem won't lie with the secondary hard drive. If they don't stutter, this would confirm the initial diagnosis. Is this secondary drive a 7

Do you just want to sort your MP3 files into a text file or do you want to know which ones are duplicates as well? There is a little program called dirlist that will list and sort files in directories but it won't let you know of duplicates. It's much like the DOS DIR command. Audio List

Do you know if the new hard drive is on the primary IDE channel as a slave to the boot drive? If your computer is not more than a few years old this should work. Perhaps your boot drive is being constantly accessed by something and not allowing quick access to the new hard drive. However, yo

I was fortunate to have bought an older Sony cd recorder. it works, but I haven't used it for years. with a copier like Addonics, you don't have to press any finalize buttons. just put the source and destination discs in the machine and away it goes. usually it takes three minutes to have a copy
