Any DVD player software should play it. If the software has a way to
open the DVD media then open the video.ts folder and see if it works.
If it doesn't then there's something wrong with your video.ts.

If the CD's won't play on your computer, then they're to badly damaged.
You just may want to replace them with new ones.

supposedly the full contents of a DVD--namely, the Video_TS directory.
What software will treat this like a real DVD? Or must I actually
write it out to a real DVD and play that?

You have to open the video TS folder and open one of the VOB files, I think?

if they're scratched, there is nothing you can do, but if they're dirty,
just rinse them with a little dish soap, and dry them with a soft cloth with
know lint.

you have to buff them and if you can still fine it, buy a kit with polomer
liquid
filler used to fill in scratches. when it drys, use the supplied cloth that
came
with the kit to buff the cd.
