Hi all,
Forgive my ignorance on this topic, but I'm just now considering the
purchase of dvd-r discs for some of my storage/personal needs. I realize
however, that I know very little about the technology. Here are my
questions:
1. Can dvd-r discs be used to store mp3 and other compresse media
Hi all,
Has anyone managed to get this working. It talks a good fight, but I've never
actually managed to get logged on. I click on start winamp remote, and jaws
says: winamp remote starting. Then it very helpfully says: winamp remote
stopping.
I have verified my email address with orb, and have
Ok, well my first comment is not to use DVD-R discs rather DVD-RW
type, that way you can update things as you go along should you need to.
Yes, you can copy-paste your data to a DVD-RW disc as you would a CD
and you can store whatever data you like, I suppose a DVD-RW can be

Well, it's supposed to be. I've never read any test reports that say
what comes out equals what went in. I can only hope it's that way.

Depends on how you do it I guess, In my case I have all my music
stored on DVD in Cue/FLAC pairs and I have MP3 conversions of the FLAC
stuff on my external drive, that way I can put them onto a hard drive
player, CD for one of the DVD players etc at the touch of a few
buttons. What this ap
Thank you Dane for the information and Scott for asking a question I long
thought about how to ask. I also have a few additional questions.
1. Is it true you can store four gb of document files such as doc, rtf etc
on a dvdrw?
2. If I have a movie someone has sent me via email or put on site
Ok, well I can't answer your last question as I'm not up to speed
with the video side of things but yes, VD-RW's do hold around about 4
gig of data, just to put that into some perspective regarding MP3
tracks, you could get say around about 800 tracks on one DVD at
excellent quality, in
I also had an Apple 2E about that time. I think that another speech

Thought I'd follow this up with the cost factor. DVD-R discs I can buy
for $20.00 for a spindle of 50, DVD-RW'S about $29.00 for 50. DVD-RAM
discs are considerably more expensive and they don't come on a
spindle, they've about $2.50 each and they come in a standard-type CD
case, they can be

Flak will produce smaller files than wave files. It's called lossless
because you lose no data in the conversion process. so, it's not just for
live recordings. It's a way to transfer sound files from a CD to your
computer without losing sound quality. However, it's not the only lossless
