Every time I rip a CD using Easy CD-Da Extractor to MP3, the resulting
file is in joint stereo. Is there a way I can convince the program to use
true stereo? I just ripped 48 CD's to FLAC using Easy CD-DA Extractor. Did
I get joint stereo there, too?

Hello to everyone. I have a question that has been irritating me for some
time now. Some years ago I had some Vinyl LPs and then recorded them to mini
disc via analogue, naturally. I then recorded them to CD on a stand-alone
hi-fi audio CD recorder; I did this digitally via coaxial cable. I had
Hi,

Hi Bruce.
I'd be shocked if joint stereo had been used for a lossless format like
FLAC. The whole point of joint stereo is to superficially mess with the
signals from both channels to exagerate them and make up for that horrible

I knew one guy that put his whole music collection on Beta, as the fidelity

Hope the following helps a little to explain the difference.
The followign is from the CDEX manual. Basically, don't use Joint Stereo
unless you're dealing with very low bit rates like 128kbps. For these files
joint stereo will do some messing with the file to try and enhance the

Much to my chagrin, I just loked at some original wave files I'd created
with Easy CD-DA Extractor. This is, or at least should be, absolutely
uncompressed. I have found that everything I've created in Easy CD-DA
Extractor, no matter what the format, is in joint stereo. People should be

I think the joint stereo issue may in fact be a Winamp issue. Winamp is
reporting everything being joint stereo, even stuff I know for a fact I
saved as true stereo using Gold Wave. Is there any way to find out
definitively whether or not a file is in joint stereo?

Yes check out the 100 milliwat unit if you're looking to transmit just
around your immediate living area. The only issue with this unit is you
will need to have someone help you set the frequency. Once that is done
however you should be set.

Another option if you have the cash is Broadcast Warehouse. You can set the
frequency on the front of their units.

The Ramsey units aren't bad either. I'm not up on what the legal power
limit is in the U K these days but you might be able to purchase one of
their assembled units.
If not you'd need to find someone to assemble the kit.
Also the Decade Ms100-s is a great sounding unit and is legal to operate in

Hi! I just installed Winamp 5.35. I've been using the scripts from JFW

in the library, anyway. Is there a way to get the original scripts back, or
