Hi Morey.
Yes, that line of inputs and outputs are your soundcard. If you wanted to
replace the soundcard you would need to remove the back off your computer,
remove the existing soundcard and replace with a new one.
Regards.

Hi all
Wonder if some of you computer fundis out there may have an answer for me on
this one.
I use allofmp3.com quite a lot and have been wondering which encoding would
be the best. It seems as if not all the available music is available in
lossless formats.

Hi Andre.
Selection of passes to make for preprocessing:
One-pass encoding: audio content is analyzed and compressed at the same
time.
Two-pass encoding: audio content is analyzed in the first pass, and then the
best combinations of bit rate, frame rate, buffer size, and image quality
are applied
Hi Kevin
Thanks. The speed is not the important thing for me here but the quality of
the sound. So the twopass one would be almost without loss then?

Yes, Gold Wave has a great batch processing facility. Don't leave home

hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to sort mp3 files. I've got a whole
bunch of files just in a folder, but I want to sort them by artist then
album so I know which files I'm missing. Does anyone know of a program
that'll do that based on tag information?

Just installed it. Sounds wonderful! If anyone is considering purchasing it,
and has any questions, feel free to write me off-list.
Briefly, though, installation was relatively easy. What problems there were
had to do with USB issues (conflicts, etc.), and not with access issues.

Thanks Dana! I'm in the market for an external sound card, and I'll probably
be going with the sound blaster thanks to your inthusiasm.

Keep us posted. If you have positive experiences with external sound
cards, I might consider a similar interface.

What effects are you referring to? Apparently, it isn't an issue for me. But

Hi,
In soundcard, there are real time effects like eq, and different effects
like pitch shift, reverb and other stuff. This stuff was readily accessable
with the audio hq program that came with the older soundblaster live value
cards. however, in the newer cards, these effects are visual, an

This sounds like what I was saying - that the user interface software that
comes with the SB Live is mostly graphical and inaccessible. But, as I also
said, most of the things one can do with the software can be done as well,
if not better, with other software that is accessible. Aren't most of
Hi,
Here's the deal, if you're broadcasting, you can use these effects in
real-time. bob kanish did a review of his soundcard a few years ago o main

Ah, now I understand what you're getting at. But you're right; I, at least,
have no need for such features.

hi all,
just figured i'd put my two cents in. there are programs, such as AVCS voice
changer, i think that's what it's called. It does all these effects and
more. It's pretty accessible. some use of the jaws cursor is needed, but
it's usable, and there are presets. I love it.
