Hi Bruce,
Sounds a bit complicated to me, and I don't know exactly where to set the
volume in Sound Forge.
Maybe we have finally found something SF can't do. grin

There are numerous stations that stream Westwood One.
You just have to hunt for them. Some streams don't carry the games;
others do.
I honestly haven't paid enough attention to the NFL this season to give a

which, if not carry

I would guess that only small time owners probably stream that stuff for
awhile, I know wtmj doesn't stream any sports, the feed goes out just at the
national anthem, and I always hated surfer network player anyways.

Brian,
I see what Patrick is saying. I'm not familiar with sound forge, but I'm
sure it would work as follows:
Record a silent file as long as your ambience file.
Play your ambient file up until the place you want it to get quieter.
At that point in the file, mix your silent file on top of your

You would think so, but it doesn't seem to work that way all the time.
I find that the trick is having enough potential targets so that one of

And as a general rule, smalltown streamers make for better targets than
major market ones.

Easy CD-DA Extractor will do it. But why would you want to do it? M4A sounds
so much better than MP3. If you are trying to burn your m4a file to a CD,
Easy CD-DA Extractor will also do that, without your having to convert the
format (and lose sound quality), first.

I'm not worried about sound quality. It's not high fidelity stuff I am
listening to begin with. I don't want to make regular audio CDs, the 74 or

load all these files,or most of them, onto a CD to listen to later, but my

Well, then, I'd still recommend easy CD-DA Extractor. At $29.95, it's less
expensive than Goldwave. There may be less expensive programs that will do
the conversion, and nothing else. But these two are the programs I know.
How many m4a files do you need to convert? If there are not too many, and
lots of times, on ebay, you buy new, in the original factory sealed box.

Hi,
OH,I do appreciate the offer, but I'm on dial up,and just one of these files

Ann,
You're right; I'd forgotten; you can't open an m4a in Goldwave.
Okay, here's another idea:
Use Winamp's disc-writer output plug-in to write the m4a file to disc, as a
wav file. Open the wav file in Goldwave, and do a save as, selecting mp3 as
the format. That should work.

Hi,
Does Easy CD Extractor have a free trial? I know using that winamp plugin
will work, but won't that take about as long as the file itself to write?
Most of these files are at least one hour long, a bit more inn some cases.

Ann,
The evaluation version of Easy CD-DA Extractor only gives you access to the
ripper component, not the converter or the burner. At $29.95 to register,
though, it's one of the best buys out there. If you're at all into working
with audio files, you really should have it in your tool kit.

RCZ,
I don't know. But, again, why would you want to convert an mp3 to MP4. As I
understand it, mp4 is only a container file extension, not its own format.
But, even if I'm wrong about that, converting from one lossy format to
another is just going to create more loss; it's NOT going to improve

Samuel! It's not called Cakewalk any longer. The company is Cakewalk
and the product is Sonar. You can get into it for $299 from Chirping Bat.
It works fairly well with Window Eyes 5.5 out of the box. For JAWS
