I think that probably, the person did not get to the record part of
volume control, since there is a microphone level control in "play"
as well which is the monitor level, not the "recording" level of the
microphone. It can be confusing, after all, most machines don't have

First of all, JAWS has nothing to do with it. This is not a screen reader

It'd be right up there. Just know there is no way to convert between two

Bruce,as the converted WMA files are for my daughters mp3 player, I don't

Juan,
If you're using Winamp, pause the track, and press shift-ins-T. If you're
using Realplayer, look in the track properties dialogue. I don't remember
the equivalent in WMP, but there is one.

Get the track info in Winamp. In JAWS, this can be done with JAWS

Hi Juan,
Just select it and press alt enter. The properties box
should give you that info. Another thing to try is while its playing
in winamp, hit alt top row number three. In there you should also see it.

It does not appear in either of those places. If you want to find it in

Well, if you're doing a podcast or something and want to edit the files,

Did you check that goldwave was configured to take its input from the mic,
rather than the line-in or some other source?
In GW, go to Options, control Properties, and the Devices page. The second
of the two drop-downs listing your audio devices is the record device
selector.
Good luck.
