which media player to use?

hi all, i've recently amassed a 6Gb, and counting, MP3 collection, and when i go to make a playlist Media Player 9 crashes my system. i can only conclude that this is because Media Player copies the MP3 files to the 'My Music' folder on the C Drive, and seeing as i only have 1Gb of space left on

I'd be surprised if Media Player was copying files from source to the hard drive. It shouldn't need to do this to create a playlist. The problem most likely lies with the install of media player itself or some quirk with your system, maybe not enough RAM or processor power? Have you tried using
