Yes, I know what your problem is now. I just had the same problem last
night.
Go into Skype, go to the tools menu, go to the options menu. Now choose the
sound devices tab, and under that tab uncheck the checkbox
ut of that menu.

I'm now using my default sound card, (an Avance C97), a cheap mic, and a
pair of standard headphones. I have freecorder set to also record from the
microphone. The problem, however, seems to be with my stereo mix option. I
