But if you're converting the MP3, you're not doing any kind of a fair
test. Your converted file will have a lower sound quality, guaranteed.

basically because aac+ is smaller file size than mp3. i think also that it
has smaller file sizes than ogg, or better quality at lower bitrates. I
can't really test that though because the settings on the faac encoder are
screwy. I want to test to see which sounds better at smaller bitrates to m

reason specifically?
