In the back of the unit you will find a sticker near the top. Temporarily
remove this sticker and with a very small flat-head screw driver, turn the screw
as far to the right as possible. this should boost the power considerably.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same transmitter, which model are
you using. Mine has the frequency adjustment buttons on the top along with
a power button. It also has a cord similar to that of a telephone wire with
an eighth inch plug on the end. Being blind, I don't know the model
there are 2
holes together. It's the hole by itself that needs adjusting. Hope this
