No, exactly the opposite. The needle will be fine for 33s and 45s, but will not be ideal for 78s. Though the 78s may play, you won't get the best sound. I don't know if the arm has one of those screw-on pieces, but if it does, then you should be able to buy the 78 attachment. If it is an all-in-one
