On my desktop computer, instead of the C-media card that came with the unit,
I use the Griffin Technologies USB IMic. It's small enough that it should
work well with a lap-top. if you ultimately decide to go the USB route, I
can highly recommend it. It gives great sound quality, and the

Line Level input to your computer. Either a USB, Firewire or PCMCIA audio
device. Sound Blaster Audigy would be OK.
