DVD's have nothing to do with any king of file format. They just hold
much more data than a CD. An MP3 or Wave file on a CD or DVD is the same
size.

You can record on those disks just like you can on trad
You can record on those disks just like you can on traditional compact
disks. The disks most people, like me, have access to hold around five gigs
of data. They come in writable and rewritable types. You need a different
kind of drive to read and write to them but they're not terribly expensive.
