created a new short cut to command.com from the explorer window. I now get a ms dos prompt window but now under properties there is nothing in the working edit box .but cmd line has c :\Windows in the edit box. But when the dos prompt window comes the directory shows it as C:\windows

Hi. I don't know the exact syntax for Windows ME, but here's something that may help. These instructions work for XP. Maybe ME has something similar. Go to the desktop Open MY COMPUTER and select the C drive. Now under the file menu there should be a choice for SEARCH. Choose that and hit ENT
