If you double the playback speed of an MP3 file using
Goldwave the pitch will be doubled too. You can adjust the
speed either for the playback control which is space bar or
F4 or you can adjust the fast forward speed when using the

Goldwave will let you increase or decrease playback speed
withoutt altering the pitch. It would be the same as
changing the speed of a cassette player without pitch
control. I am not a Goldwave expert but others on this list
are and perhaps they can give you more details.
