Hi. We have both an iMac and a Mac Book Pro. I have edited audio with both
using Amadeus Pro and to a lesser degree Audacity. and have been happy with
results.

Well I could be wrong, but I do believe that Pro-Tools is an Apple product,
and therefore, it seems that it should be using Voiceover, which means that
this program should be very accessible, these days if I'm right about this.
