It seems that with wifi, and things like it, you could use your laptop in,
say, your living room, and use the speakers for your stereo or surround
system. That would even sound better than desktop computer speakers, I
would think.

I think Bose has a couple offerings, an bipod doc that also takes a standard
line cable, and a simpler model with a wireless USB connection also with a
standard cable. it would be hard to find something as portable with that

Hi folks
Trying to download videos from utube with the free download utube program
from dvd video soft.
However after copying the link and pressing the download button, I get a
message that I probably do not have enough rights to download to this disk.

Sorry to put a downer on you, but that's not a true subwoofer.
Looking at the specks on that speaker system, the so called subwoofer
doesn't go low enough.
In order for it to be a true sub, it needs to be 20 HZ to 15 KHZ.
If I remember looking at the specks correctly, it says, "40

You are correct, it does require allot of power to drive it.
And you can't get that power from a USB port.
Even though your lab top and desk top computers have 12 volte power supplies
in them, your USB ports are only putting out 1.5 volts.
That's not enough juice to power a subwoofer.
Don't think that you are going to find such an ammonal, as the subwoofer
requires a lot of power to drive it!

speakers.
Unlike lab top speakers, you get a subwoofer with them so you can hear the
bass.
They will plug in to the headphone jack on your lab top and or notebook.
