I'm not absolutely sure, but I think it might be the particular version of
XP that was available when I bought my computer back in 2006.

I heard this is a common problem. I found by accident when googling
something else that most software for broadcasting or more pro audio won't
run in Vista, or probably 7. I wonder if this is how HD radio will be forced
to not take off. There must be something XP does that this stuff depends on,
Windows XP Media Center is another flavor of Windows XP, such as Windows XP
Home or Windows XP Professional. I would assume that if you had Windows XP
Home or Windows XP Professional, you could upgrade to Windows XP Media
Center, assuming you can still find it.

Hi!
Is Windows XP Media Centre available for anyone using Windows XP to
download or do you have to have a special edition of Windows XP?

Hi folks, I am hoping someone will be able to help me figure out how I can
improve my video recording and DVD watching. I have a Media Center laptop
computer, running XP Professional. A USB Adaptec TV Tuner card is attached so I
can tune in to a TV program and record it.

Hello,
Windows 7 had a public beta, gained lots of user acceptance, and was
released
a few days ago on Oct 22 to the general retail public.
I have an audigy 2 ZS platinum. It is a PCI card with a front panel
breakout for midi, 1/4 jack in, headphone jack and such. Worked
well in Windows XP.
