Please clearify your problem and why is it not adaquate for your basic
needs?
I am just about ready to purchase one, so I am very interested. I hear
that most lawyers and government workers love this recoder, but maybe
your tyring to do something with it that it is not made for.

SoundProfessionals SP-SM13. A wonderful microphone for the Olympus
stereo recorders. One can plug it onto the recorder or put it onto the
clothe, when one buys the extention cable and the clip as well.
But you could also sell the DS-40 and wait for the new Olympus LS-10,
which should be out in Mar

keep in mind the Olympus recorders are mainly voice recorders used for
dictation.
you could try some of the sound professional mikes, but probably spend more on
the
mike than you spent on the recorder.

let me add a note, be careful not to install the urge program, if it installs
with
media player 11, uninstall it right away because if you plug in flash drives,
it
will make directories on them and once unplugged, you'll have window pop up all
the time about urge installer which is annoying.
I have been communicating with the developer of Replay Music and
he is working on improving the Settings button dialog screen.

Hi,
I'm currently working on a sound spatialization software and I need to
play sound on 6 channels and currently the API used is DirectSound.
I have an Edirol FA-101 (firewire) soundcard with 10 input and 10 output
but I can't get more than 2 channels working together with my program.
To test
I recently purchased an Olympus DS40 recorder, but I am horribly
disappointed with the supplied stereo microphone. I am hoping someone out
there can recommend a better stereo mic, preferably the clip-on style, for
the DS40. If I can't find a better mic for this thing, I'll be selling it
on Ebay.
