I didn't find xstreamer very accessible. I have to say, I only looked at it
briefly.

The newest version of xmodule has some more keyboard functionality. I agree
more needs to be added. It's at version 1.1

I believe you've got to scroll to the otp of the window. It needs to show
that information in the titlebar.

Ah, the box it's in I will probably be using for linux anyways, I'm really
disappointed the second card thing doesn't work well. I heard xp and 2k
don't particularly like ISA devices. It would be quite nice to be able to
turn a Pac Mate TNS in to an external synth.

I have been working with both Xstreamer and XModule.
Both programs seem to work, but appear to have no direct keyboard access, at
least none that I could locate.
With Xstreamer, you can arrow up and down the dozens of channels just fine,
but pressing enter does not initiate the stream, you must d

Hmm, the only sound quality problem i have with real alternative is that the
streams i listen to somtimes get bad.
But this i think may be caused by the connection settings or something like
that.

Hi,
a few weeks ago I clicked on a link to listen to a station and got this message
"internet explorer can play this station for you" I checked yes.
Now no matter what station I click on this IE player pops up and I hear jaws 6

What about MP4. Are there portable or hi fi unit CD players that will play MP4?

Hi,
I can get xmradio to play, but I can't find out the name of
the tune that's playing. How do you find this info? Thanks, in advance.

What plugin is this? At least winamp is accessible, and I have played almost
anything audio or video I could throw at it, even the .mpg files snapstream
outputs. That beyond TV isn't that accessible in its window, but the web

I tried powerdvd, but I get stuck in the DVD menus. I hit N for next, but it
tends to not do anything, play sometimes works with the apps menu, but I can
never tell if it's really at the true beginning. Title 1 chapter 1 often
kicks to the menu again, going to two plays that one and then returns
I used to use xmstreamer, or something like that. It was real accessible,
haven't got it back on here. Something on xmmobile.com or xmstreamer.com or
something like that, I might give this one a try. I don't get why they can't
broadcast the talk stuff, since it is a subscriber service, even Siri
I heard so. AOL is now their online partner, doing all the streaming stuff.
More and more things xm's been doing lately are making me think of switching
to Sirius instead. They got rid of one of my favorite channels lately,
discovery radio. I suppose to make room for that Take 5 or whatever chan
Oh, thought this was like a Tivo where you download content on to it and
hook it to your TV. Or is there another one I heard of engadget called the
slinkbox with a K that is for that purpose.

I don't think so. Some winamp streams seem not to open in media player
either. Especially from those servers like whatever.com:8000/64k.m3u. I
think the m3u uses the same link, without the .m3u in the entry, and media
player won't use it. Maybe that's part of the station's ad insertion stuff.

I'd like to know the same thing, playing DVD's is such a bear in windows
these days, almost easier to rip and play the audio straight with winamp.
Hitting next in powerdvd and media player doesn't often do much, and there's
often more navigation layout displayed than you actually can go to, thes
I wouldn't worry about your doubletalk pc 6.2 wouldn't recognize it anyway.
I have it also on an old pentium 2 and it doesn't even show in jaws 5.0 as
an option.

Kevin,
Thanks for the very detailed and helpful message. I'm leaning in the
direction of Windows Media, and the lossless format sounds like the ideal. I
don't want to lose quality if I can help it, and you're right, memory, in

I rip all my CDs to my hard drive. I used to save them as .wavs, because of
the losslessness. but I recently uploaded over 5gigs of .m4a files from my

drive. So, I thought, I had better compress my .wavs. I was quite impr

Well, I've given up on Real Alternative. I couldn't find anyone to help me
