I really don't know whether the problem is lowsy docs or my thick skull.
But I have played with mp3 direct cut for a little more than an hour but
am not getting the hang of it. I understand a few basics such as
navigating through a file, and setting the advance distance of the page

I honestly don't think this program is for me. I enjoy working with wave
files and I can make mp3s with an encoder I've got. Had this been around 2
or 3 years ago with my first computer with a tiny 4 gb hardrive,
JAWS 3.7U. There's your problem, it relys heavily on Flash.
