3.x has a bit different DB structure, so although it may be theoretically
possible for 2.4 to READ tickets from the newer DB, I'm almost sure it won't be
able to update - and thus, create - them. So my answer would be a "no",

If you are using GMail, use it with IMAP. This way if you (OTRS) delete a mail
from the Inbox, it will be still visible in the Archived items. Hope this helps.

We are currently trying to implement processes using the new (for us, at
least) Process Management feature. We have created the first steps, now we
want to do some transitions. The links in the ticket view show up as
ekpected, but whenever I click it, nothing seem to happen.

is there anyone on this list who has successfully implemented a Change in
ITSM 3.x? I have tried and tried, but cannot go forward from requested to
approved state. Is there a fully blown tutorial on this?

those settings are applied to each tickets before the merge happens.
