I want to find cinder's, but failed, do you know where to find it?
It's important to let developers know what feature should be

Thanks to Andrea for clarifying this complex and long history problem.
As he says, we have talked about many solutions, and finally we found
this using nova-mange to call the terminate_connection and clean the
bdm entry.
It's simple and clear IMO and no bad impact to Nova API.

I found an error in OpenStack architecture picture in docs:

In OpenStack Logical Architecture picture, Cinder's database is named "nova

This idea seems to me that is useful to detect the state of

that if the back-end device go to fail you still

Cinder now doesn't check the existing resource when user lower the quota.
It's reasonable for admin can adjust the quota limit to lower level than
current usage.

Hi stackers,
I found now cinder only can configure one storage_availability_zone for
cinder-volume. If using multi-backend in one cinder-volume node, could we
have different AZ for each backend? So that we can specify each backend as
a AZ and create volume in this AZ.

I wonder why user need to use this kind of image(vm snapshot) to create
volume, and then use this volume to create a vm again. It's meaningless I
think. On the other hand, if an image size is zero, cinder shouldn't allow
to create this volume from image.

I think cinder allow detach volume when it's under migration, but the
volume status will not become 'detaching' or 'available'.
See the code of begin_detaching in cinder:

Sorry if I missed something, since now we have supported backup in-use

restoring on-line volumes.
