We ran into a backward compat issue closely related to this last week.
If the newer Glance code in Diablo is running on a server
configured with a Swift backend and interacting with an
older Glance client on an older Nova system that doesn't set
content-length then (even assuming the image is < 5G
Just a quick shout out to folks in the Boston and NE area - we're putting

For the sake of the mailing list archives, I would like to post the results of a multi-day investigation. I hope that by posting this someone else won't have to dig up the information themselves. (though Ms. Gentle's involvement offers assurance that that documentation will soon supersede the need
Hi all,
I use OpenStack Diablo release 2011.3-0ubuntu6.2 on ubuntu 11.10 with
libvirt 0.9.2-4ubuntu15.1
I try to block migrate a VM from one host to another one.
OpenStack uses the 'migrateToURI' method from libvirt python library.
But this call fails.

Hey Stackers,
Just a quick note from the OpenStack QA team to give folks a status
report on where we are and our attack-plan over the next couple weeks.
For details, feel free to peruse the IRC meeting log here:
http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/meetings/openstack-meeting/2011/openstack-meeting.201
Thanks the James and the rest of the CI team, python-novaclient is now moved
from github to gerrit.
Once we've migrated the old bugs over we'll nuke that repo.
You know the drill ... see ya there.

Mao, if you are familiar with launchpad, can you file a bug and assign it
to the nova-network team? You will be able to track the bug's status there
as well.
Thanks,

Great, but we are going to keep github as a readonly mirror right?

Hi Duncan
Thanks for your feedback. I think the Donabe info is a little scattered.
Also the scope has changed over the last 6 months. The latest tech
update is at

I will update the pages and get back in a few days, definitely

Thanks Tom, that's exactly the code I was looking for. As Jay said yesterday,
the Swift backend is expected to update image_size in this situation, so it's
obviously an accident that this code got removed.
I've just proposed using manifest-style upload for images with unknown size, so

Hello
It's been a while since I configured a cisco switch myself. I'm wondering
if you can help me... I'm trying to use vlan networking
I have installed two nodes and my eth0 in both nodes goes to a cisco 2960
switch, to ports 1 and 3
I used this command to create the network:
nova-manage netwo
I've not used VLAN's with Cisco switches, so I could be wrong here..
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk native vlan 1 (This is the vlan that un-tagged packets
will go to..)
switchport trunk allowed vlan 100-115 (Since you created 16 networks, they
will be vlan's 100-115)
Thanks,

Ubuntu is the main development target of the project. We align our
release dates with Ubuntu release dates so that we can be effectively
included in the distro.
OpenStack Diablo is included in Ubuntu Oneiric.
Past that, there are plenty of different options for
installing/configuring OpenStack -
Yes. Same model as the rest of the projects - github readonly mirror in
the openstack org for your convenience.
Thanks!
