What does this error(s) mean? On a test system, I installed
OpenSolaris 2009.06. Upgraded to b134 (on OpenSolaris /release). Then,
am trying to upgrade to OI b148.
Perhaps, I shouldn't use /release any more and instead use /legacy?

Actually, uname would report the same kernel/OS as the global zone.
But doing 'pkg list' would clearly show the packages from before the
upgrade.
Is *that* okay?
Of course, eventual
Is this a zone? You need to do zoneadm detach, followed by attach -u.

Have you guys thought about implementing pkgsrc natively for 3rd
party/userland packages?
http://www.netbsd.org/docs/software/packages.html#platforms
I recently came across it and it's quite interesting. I am debating to
use that in conjunction with IPS for OS/Net.

I really like http://vanillaforums.org/discussions. It's very web 2.0
like, and you can "embed" it
into a web page too.

For us the biggest issue is the price of the OS. We don't mind paying
something like $99/year/system or some thing of that sorts to run Solaris
(with patches). Sorry, support not required. Why can't Oracle do something
like that? What's it got to loose? The pricing they gave us was ridiculous,

I have used to improve our web performance at our service.
But it didn't solve our problem.
Can you help us in setting TCP parameters in OI so that we can get same
performance as Solaris10?.

I just upgraded from 134b to 151a2. It seems there is a "r" flag (rename) under
Obsolete column. So, if the package was renamed, why do I still see this under
old name? Is there a way to clear them?
I am guessing this might be because there are some packages that are dependent
on others, under
this?
Thanks,
Anil

So, I have to configure the interface outside the zone and not in the zone
itself? Why does it show "unknown"?

Are there any improvements planned for OI/Illumos with being able to migrate a
zone from one system to another w/o having to detaching or doing some offline
cloning? (in a "supported" way)
I really wish something can be made to make this type of move easier.
The proper way is to 1) halt, 2) det

For that matter, I might even want to do 2 x SSD and 2 x SATA drives.
Thoughts?
