Its almost certainly not even unsafe, it just means that due to the race we
needed random data in boot before we could have any.

I have a nearly new laptop ( Dell ) and I am getting the no randomness
provider error message when attempting to boot OI. I looked for the bug
report and the fix and its part of Oracle bug for open solaris # 38. This
report is not available from Oracle without an account and password

This is the understanding is that there is a race of sorts and that ZFS
needs something before it can begin to load the filesystem. No filesystem,
no boot possible.
