Thanks Albert, I will look into this and see if I can get it built and running. A functional R pkg for openindiana would be a great sell to the academics out there. I will see if I can't put something together. On 10/14/10 07:35 PM, Albert Lee wrote: Daniel and Lou, If you're happy wit

Also thought to say ... "sudo ./bootstrap-sfe-testing-os20nn" ... probably wants to be pfexec not sudo and the bootstrap command requires an existing username as the first argument. ___ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.o

Probably so, but more than a third of the page (the top bits mostly) is dedicated to the bootstrap script (and how you don't have to do certain things if you use the bootstrap script) and then about setting up jucr. I spent most of my time trying to track down the bootstrap script ... :) As an as

Ouch ... I just followed the link to the pkgbuild wiki ... You need to take it with a big pinch of salt, most of the links don't work or point to closed sites. the "bootstrap" links created by Thomas Wagner no longer work, there doesn't appear to be anything on that site. the Source Juicer link

Daniel and Lou, If you're happy with the sunfreeware build of R, that's fine. You can continue to use both sunfreeware and Blastwave on OpenIndiana, but I should point out they're primarily targeted toward Solaris 10 and earlier where proper integration with the system software was not possible.

Excellent, I will try the sunfreeware version instead and let you know what happens. I am installing on OI 147 on a V40z with 4x2.5 dual core opterons and 32gb of ram. On Thu, Oct 14, 2010 at 2:06 PM, Lou Picciano wrote: > Daniel, > > > Haven't yet built it on openIndiana; we are R users ours

Daniel, Haven't yet built it on openIndiana; we are R users ourselves, also on Solaris 10 (SPARC). Rather than Blastwave, we'd used SunFreeware's R package - in fact, asked Steve to build with The R_HOME option, so as to support the shared lib model option in R. Don't know if blastwave bui
