HELLO: If *everyone* would simply *stop posting* to these threads, perhaps
they might die…
It was a mistake to have said anything at all about OpenSXCE on this list. I
had the best of intentions, but as the old saying goes, “The road to hell is
paved with good intentions.”

I have not used hipster, but when I was using VNC on 151a7 (Gnome) with

I really hesitated to post anything about OpenSXCE because I didn’t want to
open people up to another Martin-bashing contest. And immediately after
hitting the “Send” button, I had the thought, “I really should have sent that
privately to Peter.” But that thought came just a hair too late, unf
Ok, since no one else wants to bite, I guess I will.
I haven’t spoken with Martin or spent any significant time watching his distro
for a while now, so this information may not be entirely up to date; but it’s
highly unlikely that things have changed significantly in recent months.

You might want to look into how to set SAL_SYNCHRONIZE to 1 to help with
debugging.

Does OpenIndiana have facl? If it does, “setfacl" should do what you are
looking for.

It looks like it doesn’t know where your Java Runtime Environment is.
In your ~/.bash_profile, put something like this: (Adjust using your correct
path as necessary.)

Well, that dead weight is probably those .tgz backups I make every night. They
take up a lot of space, but boy I sure

Ok, well I think I know roughly what happened now.
On the 23rd, I detached all my non-global zones, took snapshots of them, and
did a “zfs send” on them to another machine, for a backup, so I could easily
restore them if necessary. Then I reattached them, and went on with my life.
Apparently,
Could somebody please tell me where in the world all my disk space is
disappearing to?
On the 23rd, I had 33G free. The next day, I had 22G. The following day, I
had 11G.
If this happens again, I’m going to be out of disk space!
Can somebody please tell me what in the world might be going on
I entered the wonderful world of zones the other day.
I read the chapter in the "OpenSolaris Bible" about zones a while back, and
I've been thinking that setting up a couple of sparse-root zones, and one
whole-root zone would probably be best for our needs.
I wanted the whole-root zone because
Well, ideally, if every one of us who needed to install a piece of software
that wasn't available in package form would make and sponsor an IPS package for
it, I think that would be the best thing. But I, for one, am not real keen on
learning how to make IPS packages -- especially since so many
