(Typo in previous direct email) Yes there is. We distribute a 32-bit Open Babel. You can't mix 32-bit and 64-bit. You either have to install an additional 32-bit Python, or else bug us until we have no choice but to release a 64-bit Open Babel. On 19 April 2013 07:03, NathanChoo wrote: > Hi Noel

Hi Noel, I'm receiving the same error. "ImportError: DLL load failed: %1 is not a valid Win32 application." I have windows 64 bit running and Python 64-bit. I've downloaded the latest bindings and babel software. I get the error when trying to import pybel. Is there a compatibility issue? Thanks

My bad. The appropriate Python bindings are version 1.8 downloadable from http://sourceforge.net/projects/openbabel/files/openbabel-python/1.8/. I'll update those docs. On 13 December 2012 09:08, bshipman wrote: > So the only obvious difference I am seeing between my posting and RichardMR's > pos

So the only obvious difference I am seeing between my posting and RichardMR's posting is Python2.6 vs 2.7. I did a complete uninstall / reinstall via Setting -> Add Remove programs for both the OpenBabelGui 2.3.2 and the python bindings. The first time I re-installed it didn't generate the BABEL_

I may be experiencing the same or a related issue. I have Python 2.7.3 (32-bit) installed under Windows 7 (64-bit). Following the link referred to above - http://open-babel.readthedocs.org/en/latest/UseTheLibrary/PythonInstall.html - I downloaded the OpenBabel2.3.2a_Windows_Installer.exe and open

If you install Open Babel 2.3.2, then you must install the Python binding for Open Babel 2.3.2 and not those for OB 2.3.1. You can find the links at http://open-babel.readthedocs.org/en/latest/UseTheLibrary/PythonInstall.html. You should probably uninstall the old bindings first (via Add/Remove).

The first step of the instructions you link to says to install the Open Babel GUI. Have you already done this? On 12 December 2012 10:03, bshipman wrote: > My apologizes if this has been answered - the prior topic indicated the error > could not be reproduced and there was some information missin

My apologizes if this has been answered - the prior topic indicated the error could not be reproduced and there was some information missing. I usually work in a Mac/Linux world - the Windows world isn't by my choice and I'm not completely used to it. Any help or direction for trouble shooting t
