Is there any work around or eta? I just setup an HTPC and the remote
doesn't work properly without being able to run the config wizard.

The zoneminder file you sent resolves that issues. Question, what's the
different between the ~/.mythtv/themes/Mythbuntu and the
/usr/share/mythtv/themes/Mythbuntu? I always thought the themes resided

Is it true that the channel display area of the guide was configurable
via the TV Settings for version 27.1 of this theme? For example, What
if someone only wanted to display the channel number in the guide (and
no callsign)? With the new theme they are stuck with number and

All my callsigns are channum+name in the DB. I think what may be
happening is the second half of my callsign is getting truncated when
viewed in the guide. Shouldn't this area of the guide follow the
preferred channel format in the tv settings? It appears you're saying
it's hard coded to always b
Attached is a screen shot of what I see. I have callsign as my
preferred channel format in the TV Settings > General. My callsigns are
essentially the channum + name... I have no idea how the guide is
showing two different views.

I had exactly the same problem and also found /etc/mythtv/config.xml was
zero length, but the error persisted after correcting the file.
Turned out that I didn't have xpath installed (libxml-xpath-perl) and
the mythtv-database package's postinit script suppresses errors from
xpath.

Thanks Matt for the workaround, worked for me too.
I'd just like to add that this bug is really jarring as the white noise
is at full volume, which can be a *lot* louder than the tv audio. Made
me cringe every time.

Its been awhile, but IIRC our legal counsel ruled that it was sufficient
for firmware files to be freely redistributable and that the license be
distributed with the package per Debian policy.
This bug was originally about getting Intel to change the conditions of
the ipw2x00 EULA such that it met

I was running into the exact same issue as you guys. I don't know a lot about
the internal workings of firewire in mythtv, but I think what happend with my
box is either the box started identifying itself as a different model, or my
model was dropped out of the channel change portion of mythtv.

I upgraded to Lucid today, including the lirc 0.8.6-0ubuntu4.1 update,
and am still seeing this problem (mis-detection of a Hauppauge WinTV
PVR-350 remote control as a Leadtek, the remote not working and lirc_dev
taking 100% CPU).
I am running the -server kernel if that makes a difference. Revert
