Hi,
I am not sure, but I think in the past mutt would set the "From" field
in the inbox according to the alieases defined in alias_file but this
is not true anymore.
I am not sure of what changed, but my configuration is
set reverse_alias=yes
set alias_file=~/mutt/myfile
source ~/mutt/myfile

But it's working for you, right?
So, if you set
alias Chris The Guy Who Replied ch...@chrisdown.name
you see Chris The Guy Who Replied in your inbox?
Thanks!
Isn't that what I have?
alias Chris The Guy Who Replied ch...@chrisdown.name
[short name] = Chris
[replacement] = The Guy Who Replied
?

Dear all,
I recently created an account on onionmail and I have problems login in.
My android k9-mail programme can connect, retrieve and send messages
but I need mutt to work with this one.
This is the server information, as provided by the web page:
IMAP/SMTP server: mail.onionmail.org
Port I

This is not my password. Note the escape character as well, as displayed by vim.
Does this help you in any way to understand what's going on? As I
explained, with k9-mail I do have access to onionmail.org
thanks a lot

that works for them to reply but, of course, sometimes I forget to
change the field.
Is there a way to automatically change the headers if one or many
e-mail addresses belong to a given group?

thanks a lot! Is there a way to have several email addresses in a
single hook, or do I have to repeat the hook for every single email
address?

but actually it is not working - I have tried with a single e-mail
address and the Reply-To: field is empty
I have defined
set edit_headers=yes
and later
send-hook '~t ' 'my_hdr Reply-To: Pau '
but it is blank... what am I doing wrong?

thanks to you all! This is what I came up with... Since the only
problem I have is with China addresses, I have added this line
send-hook '~t ^.*\.cn$' 'my_hdr Reply-To: Me Surname '
and it works fine!
thanks again,
Pau

The backslash is to "protect" all dots, right? and the circumflex ^
means "starting with"... what if it is just one address among another
10?

Hi,
I am using mutt for a long time combined with imap and, every time I
call mutt, I get error number two:
-
/var/mail/pau: El fitxer o directori no existeix (errno = 2)

which means that the file or directory does not exist.
How can I switch this off?
Also... how
I don't have any welcome email... and if I ever had it in the past, it
got deleted some five years ago... googling yields nothing, at least
not in the first 20 entries...

don't think this is a mutt problem, but the way the term is called
on screen. I am asking here if anybody else has had a similar problem
and a fix to it,
thanks

Hello,
I have vi as my editor for composing new emails. Sometimes the
connection breaks and then I have to dig into the tmp directory where
the file was created. These files are named like
mutt-deukalion-500-10049-775496779933749571
with "deukalion" the hostname.
I would like to see whether the

In any case, now I have set default_hook="(~f %s !~P) | (~P ~C %s) |

don't understand the ~s part of it, what's is it piping into?
Thanks,

PS: Of course, I can always do ~ b stas, but
and yet I would love to get rid of the "To:" thing... I don't have a
