It started just tonight. Everytime I send an email message, I get this
message. I'm running Mutt on RedHat 6.1 on an ext2 filesystem (I say
this because all the stuff on the Internet I've found about this points
to problems with the FAT filesystem).
Any suggestions?

Never mind. Simple solutions so often allude me. I just rebooted and, of
course, all the lock files were erased (at least, I guess so 'cause
the problem is gone).

just the POP3 variety), and sends it all through my local machine's SMTP
port so I can use procmail to process the mail before it gets to mutt.
And, IMHO, it's easy to configure.
