I also have save hooks to save to the email address of the sender, and save
sent messages to that folder, if it exists. [ed note: appended on bottom]
What you want is here:

Problem: I handed out loads of addresses of the form
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I'd like to automatically save
emails to this address to =SENDERSPECIFIC, where "automatically" means
that I don't want to put a save-hook line into my muttrc file.
I thought about using message-hook to somehow call save-hoo

Hi all,
i've set up a lot of fcc-save-hooks to set the default folders
for certain people ("~L pattern folder"). This works quite good
if there's only one recipient in the headers or one person to whom
i send mail. If there are many recipients in the headers or me doing

I've found it convenient to redefine default_hook b
I use fcc-save-hooks like:
fcc-save-hook [EMAIL PROTECTED] =".Clients.CompanyX.People.joe bob"
I'd like to limit matches to the To: and From: fields, skipping the Cc:
and Bcc: fields. I figure the following would probably work, but is there
a more elegant (i.e. less redundant) me

Yes, it is. Y
stupid question of the day:
while mbox-hooks can save read messages automatically
for save-hooks to work you have to be MANUALLY saving a message
(given a matching regexp or pattern, of course)
is that correct?

for things other than screen formatting.
Then, quoting the manual, I thought, unlike mbox-hooks, all the
save-hooks in .muttrc are evaluated. In fact, for both, the first
one that matches is used, isn't it. So default m

Incidentally, the manual says about mbox-hooks,
Unlike some of the other hook commands, only the first
matching pattern is used (it is not possible to save read mail
in more than a single mailbox).
But, isn't this true about save-ho

As far as I know, there's no way in Mutt to do a Fcc into more than one
folder at a time. :-(

The short answer to your first question (how to change $folder or,
actually $save_name) is that a few people have asked about it a few times
without getting a great answer, and I'm extremely interested in getting
it working. I think that some hooks about like

Hello all,
I am trying to accomplish a number of things at once. I like to sort mail
from my co-workers into individual folders after I read it and deal with it.
I currently do this by tagging messages and using the default save folder.
Works great. What I want to do is:

hi,
this is probably a really easy question, but apparently i still cant
figure it out. i want to have save hooks set up so that if i recive
an email from a certain person, when i go to save it, it goes in a
cetain mailbox, and if it is from someone else, it will go in another
one. I dont mean

Hello,
I have a question about save-hooks. Up until now I'd been assuming that
they work just like all (most of) the other hooks and that you can specify
the usual regular expressions and patterns like in other parts. But,
according to the manual, you can only specify one regular expre

Hm, the manual says that the pattern is used against the From: address,
which usually is not [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
How
whats wrong with this i got it and modified it from one of the mutt pages
save-hook mutt-users@ +mutt-users-save
