You NEED to do as advised, use the man pages and go thru your ~/.muttrc.

Kyle - i have been reading the man page as you suggested and also check the
wiki-faq's, etc. As i'm using the IMAP server for storing mail, sent, received,
etc, do i need to have an mbox

I'm trying to set this variable to connent to an imap server (fastmail) using
the following:
set folder="imaps://mail.messagingengine.com:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:pass=**"
when i'm in the main mutt viewer that lists my messages,
