e feet appear to be grey instead of pinkish. This may be the key point
in the photo AGAINST it being a Swainson's. But again, lighting could be at
play there.
Sorry for the long post. But I figured if there is indeed a Swainson's
Warbler there, some of you may want to try for it.
MN River, which
would (if it flew on course) would generally lead it in the direction of
Scott Lake. Thanks for sharing your sighting!

I'm assuming all reports have been without special access but I'm not sure
(as I haven't been there to see this particular bird).

ff together (or what
appeared to be "together"), or taking "timeouts" during the act wherein
both birds were just apparently relaxed and disengaged before eventually
continuing with the tussle.
Any thoughts?

Ironically, that road closes for a while starting tomorrow (for construction).
It could have been temporarily safe from traffic, if not disturbed to move
elsewhere. Hope it survives and is released in a better place!

numbers--at one point so many were flying across the road I was worried I'd
hit a bunch of them (thankfully I didn't), nothing else was of note. Still
a decent mix of scattered waterfowl species but no big gatherings.

I saw Black Terns there recently...not sure if that fits exactly what
you're talking about? I'd be curious to hear if you agree, or if others
have ideas.

John, loons nest in the east metro near Hudson, as well as on some lakes
just across the border in the Hudson area, so those are surely summering
loons you're seeing. Always fun to see!
