I've finally successfully created an svcd - thanks for the help.
My question now is concerning bit-rate. I've watched many svcds, some
of which are 2 hour movies that come on 3 disks, yet are within spec -
my hw player refuses anything even slightly over spec...

lav2yuv +p test.avi | mpeg2enc -f 2 -F 1 -o test.m1v
And I get it to Seg Fault
