USB tethering is working on this device but
with no luck. Looks like the device ID is unknown(?) Anyway, dmesg and
the "usbdevs -dv" output are available below. I also disconnected and
reconnected the device so you can see what it spits out on the console.

from CD. Resized my Windows partition in less than two minutes. I don't

Did you read the EXAMPLES section in SOFTRAID(4) and followed it by the
letter? I would also recommend to try another PATA cable (80-conductor
if possible) to see whether the CRC errors disappear.
