my mistake, sorry about that. In general, I was being
relative with "dating" it...I just remembered that
sometime between the release of 3.7 and 3.8 that the
beginnings of support was being discussed. I could be
wrong there too.

becaseu we don't want to end up in the same mess as other projects
did.

Lifebook P7010D and it doesn't have APM as far as
I can determine, just ACPI, which seems to be a
growing trend in new laptops.
anyway, when booting, dmesg spits out a lot of stuff
about acpi
