I've seen some benchmarks showing the Mtron mobi 3000 (the drive I have) blasting 7000 seeks a second and going the full 100MB read, 80MB write. This is not expected over pciide. I'm trying to hack ahci to not panic on boot :). Brandon On Mon, Jun 16, 2008 at 7:15 PM, Chris Cappuccio <[EMAIL PRO

FWIW, here's what I get _with_ softupdates on a "Super Talent" FSD32GC35M (it's nowhere close to the Mtron): Version 1.03 --Sequential Output-- --Sequential Input- --Random- -Per Chr- --Block-- -Rewrite- -Per Chr- --Block-- --Seeks-- MachineSize K/sec %C

I'm pleased that they were this fast. And I also agree that the next generation will be much faster, however this drive has shown that it does perform to its specified 100/80MB read/write. On Mon, Jun 16, 2008 at 11:32 AM, Marco Peereboom <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > To be honest I am surprised t

To be honest I am surprised they were that fast. Solid state isn't up to par yet so these numbers are actually quite good. The next generation is going to be much more competitive. On Mon, Jun 16, 2008 at 09:44:16AM -0400, Brandon Mercer wrote: > Yes, just a little bit... The do seem slow, but I

Yes, just a little bit... The do seem slow, but I acknowledge the fact that the system bus could be choking a bit. The numbers that have been produced in other benchmarks are right around 100/80 read/write. I'm not entirely sure that the system board that I have is the greatest to achieve this on.

Hello all. Well my raid 10 of 10k scsis just wasn't cutting it anymore so I decided to replace it with something interesting. I picked up an Mtron mobi 3000 solid state hard drive. This drive didn't come without issue. I poorly researched hardware and then had to substitute my mainboard choice w
