Hi all,
I changed the subject of my reply to "On The Code of Conduct", so as
not to mix threads of conversation.
Please keep in mind that this is only my interpretation of the code of
conduct. I am on the Grin moderation team, but this is not an official
position, only my personal thoughts.
I've

Sorry, last bullet point should be:
• It incentivizes pooled mining, since *users* will probably only
submit transactions to the top N accelerators, if you're not in the
top N pools, you're incentivized to join one to maximize your fees

Congratulations to everyone who made this possible! This is way too
exciting ^^

Also, keep in mind that we have an opportunity for further tweaks in
the final round. If there's a logo but you don't like the color,
background, or would like a minor tweak, do note that in your
comments!

Hi all!
Derek and I are running a logo design contest on 99 designs for Grin.
The logo that wins the design contest isn't guaranteed to become
Grin's logo, but should produce one or more strong options.
There have been a total of 171 (!) submissions to the contest. I've
narrowed them down to 16,
One thing that John brought up which I think is good to remember that
supply inflation is not the same as price inflation. Even in the face
of supply inflation, high demand and increasing adoption can lead to
negative price inflation. (e.g. price of grin going up)
Bitcoin has had supply inflation

Hi All,
Thanks John for making the graphs!
The graph of monetary inflation for a constant supply coin concerns me
slightly.
Central banks managing stable fiat currencies generally target 0% to 4%
price inflation per year.
Upon entering the 12.5 bitcoin block reward era a little under 8 years

Hi Igno,
A hard fork where everyone has a lot of time to upgrade is much less
painful than one in which the new client is available for only a short
time before the new rules go into effect.
So, it might be nice to also commit to a lower bound on the lead time
that users will have to upgrade and
The code that checks the block reward of the initial blocks will always
need to be part of the grin codebase (and any other implementations of
grin, should there ever be any).
Because it will always have to be part of the codebase, it seems like extra
complexity for limited benefit.

Thanks for this list! I like quite a lot of them ^_^
I think my favorites are Nemo, Daymark, Mani, Grall, Nasik, and Petrichorum
(added the um). Mu would be great for the smallest unit.
This is like, bikeshedding the the nth degree, but it's fun.

As in, be nice, don't eat glue, don't hit. Rules that anyone should be able

instead of the blockchain type category.
Perhaps it's a silly distinction, but one of the things that I like so much
about Grin is that, if you squint a bit, it's just a good ol' blockchain in

Hi All,
In a world where large quantum computers exist, then only perfectly binding
chains are of any use of all.
However, if a world where large quantum computers do not exist, then it
seems like perfectly hiding chains are preferable.
Barring undisclosed advances in quantum computing, we seem
