We have been using cost since we went live with Meditech in 1992. It gives a much truer picture of what is happening than does AWP. Also, AWP will not be around much longer as formulary vendors such as FDB will not be allowed to publish this data. All the more reason to use cost. Charlie Charles

Assuming that you are accurately changing the AWP as they come on the invoice, there have been SIGNIFICANT reductions in AWP over the last 5 years. Some companies have gotten in trouble for "inflating" the AWP so they are getting more realistic. If you have FirstDataBank, make sure you are using
