+1 for GPG Suite by GPGTools, works like a charm with MailMate. Do use Homebrew
to install it. With the cask `gpg-suite-no-mail`, you get the free version
without the Apple Mail plugin (which I suppose you don’t need since you have
MailMate).

Hi everyone,
I use Firefox Relay, an email masking service that allows for mails being
forwarded from aliases to a real inbox. The service uses the alias as the
sender address and the address of the original mail as the name. The format of
the From field therefore reads as:
originalsen...@orig
Just some well-intentioned advice from someone who ran one himself for years:
Don’t. Especially if you can’t answer these questions yourself. A mailserver
that actually works well is a challenging thing to set up, especially these
days. You just never know what great new things providers will co
Hi everyone,
in MailMate’s Preferences, there’s Security > Composer: OpenPGP > Sign by

way that when I sign a message for a contact, MailMate should automatically
enable signing the next time I compose a message to tha

So, I’m kinda done there.

The one thing that I sorely miss in Preside is PGP signing and encryption
support. Other than that, it‘s really, really powerful. You won‘t get any
closer to MailMate with an email client on a mobile device.

Yes. I very recently created a clean install of macOS (about 3 month ago), and
migrating MailMate with all messages, mailboxes and settings worked perfectly
by following the instructions Florian linked from the online manual.
Hi everyone,
when composing an email, as soon as I select a signature with an HTML
variant, MailMate makes my message rich text, even when the signature is
the only part of the message that needs HTML for styling. Is there a way
to change this behavior so that MailMate doesn’t generate an HTML
Hi everyone,
when forwarding an email message, MailMate marks the start of the original
message with the string “Forwarded message:”. As I understand from similar
requests in the mailing list archives, it’s not possible to customize this
line. Is this still true for the current (5860) version o
FWIW, I found the extensive release notes pretty interesting to recap what has
changed since the last official release. However, I had expected the release
notes to continue listing the specific changes just for the new build so it’s
kind of strange that these seem to be omitted from now on.

Hello,
following this example:

I have successfully created a number of custom specifiers for me to use
with submailboxes. This works like a charm for all kinds of mail
headers. However, for something that I’m up to, I’d need to parse

yes, that’s what exactly what I did. Now, in an act of despair, I did a clean
install of MailMate, copied back my settings, and for whatever reason, the
preference now takes effect. Problem

Hi Nic,
the initial submailbox configuration was actually pretty simple. I just set
"Submailbox for each unique value of" to "Flags >> Color".
Now, digging again into MailMate's settings, I've actually found a solution to
my problem: In addition to "Flags >> Color", there's now also "Flags >>
Hi everyone,
I have a smart mailbox in MailMate that collects all messages with flags. In
addition, I’ve told MailMate to auto-create submailboxes by flag color. This
works fine – however, the names of the submailboxes are not colors but
apparantly a simple number code. For example, the mailbox
Thanks for your suggestion! Unfortunately, no luck with this either. Out
of 55 attachments (from 55 mails), a maximum of five get saved even
using the menu command instead of the context menu.

Hi there,
I’d like to save attachments from multiple messages at once to a
specific location on my hard drive. My guess is that it should be as
easy as selecting the messages and then use „Save Attachments…“
from the context menu, and I’m pretty sure that’s the way it used to
work in MailMate
When talking about providers with privacy in mind, I’d also like to
throw Posteo into the mix. German-based too, and overall pretty
likeable.
