Hello,
My name is Naama and I currently live in Israel. I have just received my
very first mac a few hours ago -- it is a new iMac.
I have gone through the out of box experience successfully, and I am
noticing that my timezone is not set properly.
I did not get an option to set my timezone, even
ke sure to have the Set Time Zone Automatically button to Off.
This should do the trick for you.

This is exactly the issue I was having, and it was very frustrating. Also,
neither system was particularly stable. That's why I decided to blow away

Hi,
I have just connected my Focus 40 blue Braille display to my iMac via USB and I

Voice Over recognised the display, but I still get no Braille.

Ram, compared to other things,is relatively inexpensive, and the results are

Yes, it is possible, and it even actually knows the g mail server, but it sets
it up as IMap by default, so if you want pop3, you need to change it, and
accept eh certificate.

Hi,
The best way to do this is to go to the edit field on the left side, and type
follw and the twitter ID of the person, without the @ sign.
It *usually* works.

Hi,
It's absolutely my favourite client, and very powerful, in my opinion -- I've
never used anything quite as great as yorufukurou for twitter.
At any rate, if you look at the menus, there is a keyboard command by every
single action.
I'd just read the menus, and learn the commands.

Hi,
I actually tried it before Yorufukurou and found it extremely hard to use, so
personally I vote Yorufukurou.

Hi,
Yes, I prefer this too, but unfortunately, that does not work witht he mac.
Believe me, I wish it did.
For some reason, voice over does not allow to map those keys to this action.

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to use pop3 with g mail, I do it.
You need to change the port number in the incoming server to 995, and you need
to accept the certificate that pops up.
Let me know if you need further instructions.

Hi,
I trust my mac to do absolutely everything, except for broadcasting. If I
didn't need my pc to broadcast, I would not use windows any longer, not in
fusion, bootcamp or anything.
I am not a huge fan of adium, but it works, so even messaging is ok.

Hi,
Is there an easy way to answer and join an incoming call to a conference on

Also, is there a way to invite someone to conference?
We can't seem to find a way to do it.

Hi all,
I've noticed that when I start an app in Lion it kind of disappears after a few
second, and I have to go to the doc to get it back. Any idea why this is
happening and how to keep apps that I'm working on open so that I can command
tab between them?
Thanks,

I downloaded and installed it, but for some reason could not work with it. I
even had trouble logging in, because of the interface.
Any suggestions or ideas?

Hi,
How is the track pad useful on the web? Does it let you read smaller chunks of
text? I find that sometimes voice over reads chunks that are too big,
especially if I want to read by line.
I hate to ask it this way, because I don't wanto to compare voice over to
anything else, but would the tr
I can tell you that numpad commandor is truly wonderful, and I am so glad I
invested in a full keyboard.
I know it's not that practical for mac book users so much, but if you're going
to have an external device, you may want to consider it.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have noticed the following issues since upgrading to lion:
1. Safari -- If I start interacting with html content, I can VO for a few
lines, and then VO would lag and restart itself, and I'd be placed at top of

Any suggestions, please?
2. Mail - I am not seeing duplicates. For

Hi
I am not sure I am understanding you correctly, but I managed to have a
different system default voice in Lion. I have Fiona as my system voice, and I
used to have Tessa as an activity voice for adium.
Now I still have Fiona, but switched back to Alex for VO.
