Eureka! I got my fast Safari back again, finding, tabbing, etc. I guess all
that excess baggage was dragging down the searches. So your suggestion led to
the ultimate solution.

Wondering if you are suffering from what I experienced. I hid my bookmarks,
reading list, toolbar, status bar, tab bar, and anything else I could think of
in the View menu of Safari. My “Safari Busy” went away and life is good again.
