Hello Tim,
Many thanks for your info on this. However I still have problems…
First I had to simplify my time machine setup. I have 2 time machine disks
which save alternate backups. One of these time machine disks contains 2

Hi All,
I have a Mac Book Pro that I bought back in 2014, but it tells me it is a
late 2013 model. Anyway I keep up with updates. Currently I'm running Big

there is an update of the OS from Big Sir to Monterey. However
Instead of going to Notifications, try the following instead:
Go to System Preferences > Software Update.

is available to your machine.

Hi Brad,
Thanks, I will try this, but usually when I check for updates I go to the menu,
down-arrow to about this computer and tab to the check for updates button. It
has always given me the ability of doing OS updates. Is this different from
checking for updates through system preferences?
Thanks very much!

The keyboard shortcut to get to notifications is VO-O (the second letter in
notification).
