You can install macports and then install a package called GPG (Gnu Privacy
Guard). You can then encrypt your data after creating both a public and private
key. Then store it on a USB device with a braille tag attached to let you know
what it is.
If you don’t want to go through the hassles of i
I would also recommend GNU Privacy Guard (GPG) for encrypting sensitive
personal information. In addition, enabling Fire Vault would be a good
idea, if you haven't done so already. This encrypts all of your data

Ah yes, the Cold War model called “Defense in depth”. Btw, you can also format
a USB stick as an encrypted filesystem (you would have to go into the advanced
features on Disk Utility to do this) or you can create an encrypted disk image

In Windows, OneDrive has a security vault.
Is there such a thing in iCloud or Word for the Mac?
Sounds a little less intimidating.

Actually,
Not sure about ICloud, but you can create something akin to it.
You create an encrypted disk image locally, then open it after resenting your
credentials. Then copy any files to it that you want. Once that is done, close
and unmount the disk image and then upload it to iCloud as a file

Well, an encrypted disk image is exactly that. It behaves exactly like a real
disk in all aspects, save one: it’s a file with a filesystem inside it. Now, a
VM is entirely different. We are talking about a virtual machine environment
here. It will have a CPU, video, and all the other devices of
Hi all,
I may have asked this on a list before, if so I can’t remember the answer.
I have a couple of iCloud aliases that my wife & I use separately. I don’t want
all of these downloading on My Mac or iPhone.
How can I have only one Alias download?
Thanks for any advice.
Max.

Yes, I set up virtual machines a long time ago through VMWare.
I used some tools to create image backups of my computers so just tried to
compare file encryption to those processes.
I just find it easier to backup sensitive data to external hard drives.
