In Windows, OneDrive has a security vault.
Is there such a thing in iCloud or Word for the Mac?
Sounds a little less intimidating.

Ah yes, the Cold War model called “Defense in depth”. Btw, you can also format 
a USB stick as an encrypted filesystem (you would have to go into the advanced 
features on Disk Utility to do this) or you can create an encrypted disk image 
and then write that as a file to the USB stick, then you can open it like 
another drive. I do that a lot here.
