So, today I inserted a USB drive in to OS X El Capitan.
Upon opening the drive, in Finder, I switched to list view.
Try as I may, I could not discover how to sort the files via
ascending/descending order. I could organize them by name, date created,
etc but there did/does no

In List view, you need to interact with the table then place yourself in the
column you wish to sort. The command is then VO-Shift-\ to go into headers,
then VO-Space to do the sort, and VO-Shift-\ to get out of headers.
The first time you press VO-Space while in headers will sort in

The command you need is select all with command A, then command J, there will
be some pop up menus, you want to sort by date added, modified, or date last
opened, whatever your preference may be. You can also select the check box
that says “also calculate sizes” HTH

I think your mac application screams MacBook air to me. The pro is a real work
course and has a lot of power you may not need. The 15 especially has a lot of

I would echo everything Alex said. If you ever want to run Windows in a VM,
memory is key. A solid state drive though is the most game changing. Think
towards the future though--a little more investment might mean an extra year or
two considering how long Apple hardware holds up.
